Windy City Greets Spring and St. Patricks Day on the Lake Front

Navy Pier is Chicago is a popular gathering spot and entertainment mecca. Special Spring activities include Saint Patrick's Day and Spring Time Fun.

Chicago's Navy Pier is gearing up to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day and Springtime fun during the month of March. Snow is melting and soon the green lawns and green leaves will be appearing in the great outdoors.

Navy Pier in Downtown Chicago is a great destination for family outings, excursions with friends and romantic dates. The Lake Michigan lake front offers beautiful views of the water and sweeping views of the famous Chicago skyline.

Forever Green, Friday March 14

The Navy Pier Grand Ballroom is the location for Forever Green, a benefit for the Cystic Fibrosis and AAction Autism. General Admission is $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Includes drinks and entertainment.

St. Patrick's Day Weekend is Celebrated on Navy Pier on March 15-16.

On Saturday, March 15, Downtown Chicago will fill with crowds celebrating the Irish holiday. The Chicago River will be dyed green on Saturday morning. The traditional dyeing of the Chicago River will be followed by one of the largest St. Pat's Parades in the United States. The St. Patrick's Day Celebration on Navy Pier is a weekend of Traditional Irish/Celtic Music, The celebrating will be held from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM. at the Family Pavilion Stage. Admission is free.

St. Pat's Day, March 17

St. Patrick's Day celebrations will start at 6:30 AM. Radio personality, Steve Dahl and The Jack FM morning crew will hold a live broadcast at Phil Stefani's Riva Restaurant on Monday morning. The broadcast runs 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The broadcast at Riva Restaurant includes free Irish breakfast, green beer, music, special guests, prizes and more.

Spring Family Fun March 14-30

Bank of America presents fun for the entire family on March 14-30. Crystal Gardens will be transformed into an indoor playground during the last two weeks of March. The early spring season will be celebrated with family oriented activities, strolling characters and entertainment Colorful characters strolling on the pier will include the Care Bears, Hello Kitty & Polly Pocket, Clifford & Madeline, Patch & Pickle and Clifford & Mad. Clowns, jugglers, circus artists will perform daily.

Ride the Springtime Express train ride through a fantasy fairytale world. Children's games include the Bunny Hop Bouncer, Slippery Slide, Fairytale Bouncer, Patch's Pitch, Circus Train and the Pier Park Outdoor Attractions.

Spring Family Fun features daily free entertainment. Children will enjoy meeting Patch and Friendly Fairy Tale Friends Sunny Bunny will be on hand for photo opportunities. Photographs will be for sale, or can be taken on your own for free.

There are also outdoor attractions including the famous McDonald's Ferris Wheel, Miniature Golf, Patch's Lighthouse and Sprout Mountain Slide.

Navy Pier offers daily entertainment, rides, dinner cruise excursions, restaurants and shopping.

Admission to Spring Family Fun is free. Purchase a Family Fun Activity Wristband for $10, for indoor attractions. The Spring Family Fun Activity Wristband Plus, $15, includes indoor attractions plus the Pier Park three-ride combo. There is a $2 off coupon available at the Navy Pier website. An additional $1 discount is available to holders of the Bank of America or LaSalle Bank debit/credit cards at the door. The Navy Pier website has a coupon for $10 off parking for evening.
